Randomness

Dinner at Fins in Roseville last night. I'm eating whatever I want these days, which usually means mostly vegetarian with a bite or two of fish occasionally. Tim had halibut (yummy!) and I ordered all the sides, so my dinner was two bites of halibut, coleslaw, garlic mashed potatoes, and steamed vegetables -- delicious and CHEAP to order just the sides!

Something strange is going on behind my left knee. Tendons or ligaments are all tight and sore. Tried to run today -- intended to do 9 or 10 -- but ended up walk/running (mostly walking) 6 miles. Don't like body weirdness. :(

Kids have plans today (Austin's working, Tucker's going to see Wicked in SF with Tim's parents) and after Tim gets back from golfing we're taking a nap (not much sleep last night) and then heading to Auburn to hike the canyon -- FUN!!! I'm happy that springtime is finally here, at least for today!

I'm back at it on Lumosity, a brain training website. At almost 50, I can tell that my thinking just isn't as sharp as it used to be, and studies have proven that "use it or lose it" applies not only to the body but to the mind as well. So I'm playing "word bubbles" and "raindrops" and having a lot of fun with it.

If you're getting possible inflammation issues, try increasing Apple, Onion and Pepper intake, (Quercetin), or Pineapple intake, (Bromelain), as those substances work for one thing as anti-inflammatories, although they are available supplementally.

Hopefully your problem doesn't escalate. Might be down to some kind of over exertion, or possibly some kind of over stretching, I.E. stretching too intensely or using an exaggerated stride pattern, or simnply a lack of stretching prior to running.

Then again maybe it just happened when you did something simple, like adopting a strange body position in your sleep, or walking down stairs in an unusual way.

This would depend on whether the problem occured during the run, or before the run.

Those might all be possibles.

You might be able to identify it, by simply oscillating and moving the affected Leg, whilst sitting in a chair.

If the sensation occurs when moving it backwards, chances are it's the Posterior Cruciate. If you get it when moving the Leg forwards or rotating, then chances are it could be the Anterior Cruciate or maybe the Patella Tendon, but as you say it's happened near the back they seem less probable.

If the sensation occurs possibly down the inner part of the Leg as well, it might also be affecting the Medial Collateral ligament, (one of the stabilisers), or also on the outside instead, the Lateral Collateral Ligament, (the other stabiliser).

You could try Icing the area 3-4 times for 10-15 minutes, see if that attenuates the symptoms if they are still persisting.

Otherwise take care and if needs be consult a medic.

The main thing is you're getting our there and doing what you can and you CAN be proud of yourself for what you are doing.

:-) :-).

While I'm glad my post warmed your sad heart, I'm sad you have a sad heart. I had to come on over and see what's going on. Looks like LIFE has you by the horns. I've raised the teenagers, I know how it is. I didn't have the parent thing at the same time though. Kind of leaves you, alone, in the middle.
I'll keep you in my prayers Leslie. ;)
