Might be down to some kind of over exertion, or possibly some kind of over stretching, I.E. stretching too intensely or using an exaggerated stride pattern, or simnply a lack of stretching prior to running.<br /><br />Then again maybe it just happened when you did something simple, like adopting a strange body position in your sleep, or walking down stairs in an unusual way.<br /><br />This would depend on whether the problem occured during the run, or before the run.<br /><br />Those might all be possibles.<br /><br />You might be able to identify it, by simply oscillating and moving the affected Leg, whilst sitting in a chair.<br /><br />If the sensation occurs when moving it backwards, chances are it's the Posterior Cruciate. If you get it when moving the Leg forwards or rotating, then chances are it could be the Anterior Cruciate or maybe the Patella Tendon, but as you say it's happened near the back they seem less probable.<br /><br />If the sensation occurs possibly down the inner part of the Leg as well, it might also be affecting the Medial Collateral ligament, (one of the stabilisers), or also on the outside instead, the Lateral Collateral Ligament, (the other stabiliser).<br /><br />You could try Icing the area 3-4 times for 10-15 minutes, see if that attenuates the symptoms if they are still persisting.<br /><br />Otherwise take care and if needs be consult a medic.<br /><br />The main thing is you're getting our there and doing what you can and you CAN be proud of yourself for what you are doing.<br /><br />:-) :-).<br /><br />MattAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
