Today Tim and Austin left for JH Ranch for a week-long father/son adventure. And today, alas, marks the end of the birthday gift.
In any area of life, when you decide to commit to something -- anything -- a lot can be discovered. And we learned a lot during our 28-day adventure, and had a lot of fun in the process.
We do not plan to resume daily activity when Tim gets back because by the end of the experiment, it was starting to feel like a "have to" instead of a "get to" and that's not what we want our relationship to be about.
We both agree that we will do this experiment again in the future, but maybe for a shorter duration. And if you're wanting to experience some more intimacy in your relationship, I highly recommend you giving it a shot! :)
Fitness for all ages and stages from a girl who's made all the mistakes and talks about them here. Lots of oversharing, which hopefully leads to lots of encouragement and heart connection.

Just do it!
Nope, not the Nike slogan here -- my new book "Just Do It -- How One Couple Turned off the TV and Turned on their Sex Lives for 101 Days (no excuses!)" Today is Tim's birthday. He's 44. And, feeling inspired by my wonderful new book, his present is 44 days of ... well, 44 days of feeling very very loved! :) Happy birthday, baby!

P.S.
The "mixed marriage" comment was flippant and funny, but it doesn't really paint a picture of the harmony that exists in my views and Tim's views on health. In the same way that I'm vegan-ish, I think that Tim is moving towards vegetarian-ish in his choices. And we both value staying active, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate having a partner in health and wellness. This morning we did Rodney Yee's AM Yoga, and then did our separate workouts. Today Tim ran. And I headed to the beach for lunge walks and skipping, and step ups on a picnic bench.

I DO still exercise!
Haven't had much to say about workouts these days. Today was my last day of boxing camp (end of May session) and I'm looking forward to finding a new challenge. Don't know what it will be yet, but I'll be sure to let you know about it when I figure it out.
So this week, workouts have looked like this:
Monday -- boxing camp, swings with clients
Tuesday -- 6 mile run
Wednesday -- boxing camp
Thursday -- boxing camp
I plan to do some longer runs this weekend and maybe the P90X yoga dvd or Art of Strength's Providence kettlebell DVD.
In a few minutes, my boyfriend (actually husband, but boyfriend just sounds and feels like a lot more fun!) will be home from a 5 day golf trip in Oregon. I can't wait!!!
