Comment appreciation!!!

I'm trying something new with comments. Like I've said before, I SO appreciate that anyone takes the time to read what I write, and when someone takes the time to comment, it's like the frosting on the cake! So not acknowledging comments feels rude, like not writing thank you notes. And it seems like it takes me forever to write back with the way I do it. So here's the new system. I'm going to reply to comments in the actual comment section. So I've already gone back and replied to the last few posts and will continue working my way back (as well as staying current) until I'm caught up. So if you stopped by and asked a question or something, chances are there will be a response and a heartfelt thank you in the comment section.

Blogger does not make it easy to reply to comments, I agree. I like how on livejournal, you can reply directly to someone's comment and it emails them! Blogger should do that!

I agree with Holly that Blogger doesn't make it easy to reply. I get people's comments emailed to me.

Do you have comments emailed to you? It makes it a little easier to respond via email.

It's not always easy to go back and respond to comments!! But, I think it's wonderful that you want to acknowledge your readers. I really appreciate that! :-)

Btw, I really enjoyed reading all YOUR responses, too! :-)

Holly -- If I weren't so scared I'd lose data, I'd consider using another blog host site. Do you use livejournal? I've heard good things about Wordpress too. Any thoughts?

AKA Alice -- I do have comments emailed to me, and that does make it easier. Thanks for the suggestion!

Julianne -- Thanks and thanks! :)

Leslie I agree too, because I'm here to reply to the comment you left on my blog :) - That's exactly it, I don't feel the need for a holiday that's focused on food, and on top of that - I don't like Turkey, Cranberry Sauce, or Pumpkin Pie, maybe if it was food I liked . . . But we try and do a Turkey Trot or something active as part of the tradition, watch some football and enjoy family. I tried doing a big Lasagna dinner once for Thanksgiving - my dad was not happy.

I was going to suggest the same thing as Alice but it looks like you've got it figured ;-)

Thank you! I know how much I love reading comments, but also how time-consuming it can be to both respond to them and write blog entries.

I've been commenting on comments in the comment section since the get go. (That sounded weird!!) It just works for me that way.

Laurie -- Yeah, I can see where Tgiving wouldn't be that happy if you don't like the food. And because I think of it as the most traditional of all holidays, I can see why your dad didn't dig the lasagne. Come to think of it, the only foods I really like from Thanksgiving are ... are ... sweet potato casserole ... and ... and ... now remind me why I like Thanksgiving so much? Must be the football! :)

Marcy and Tfh -- Thanks and hi girls!

Irene -- Looks like you clued in a lot sooner than I did!

Not sure about one of the posteres comnments earlier, but when someone comments on my blog, I get e-mails about it, even when I reply as well.

Maybe it doesnt' work too well with the pop-out window setting, as mine goes to new screen mode for comments :-s :-s.

You ran 1,000 miles in a year.

Funny thing is in Britain, if you went the shortest route between the two furthest places, Lands End, and John O'groats, which is something like 874 miles approximately, you'd not be able to run anywhere else, unless you went back to Aberdeen, from John O'groats, got a ferry ot either the Shetland or Orkney Isles, and then ran around some of them, to finish off the other 100+ miles.

Whereas in America, you could have gone all the way to Canada probably, or at least the south of Mexico.

This time next year, (if you'd run the 1,000 miles as a kind of road trip), you could hypothetically get somewhere like Panama I expect :-p :-p.

Take care and best wishes.

Matt
