Looking ahead to 2009

The marathon is still a week and a half away, but I'm already looking past it to 2009. I work well when I have a focus of some kind (most people do, right?). This year my focus was boxing camp for the first half of the year, and then the marathon for the second half. So here are my ideas for 2009:

Emphasize kettlebell training and maybe get AOS certified
Run 1000 miles (20 miles a week is a nice target)
Emphasize CrossFit or P90X or some combination of the two
Run my first ultra (???)
Figure out a way of eating that I can stick with for life

I can tell that I'm ready to broaden my horizons to include more than just running. But for now, I'm going to continue to taper (30 miles this week, 10 miles next week) and keep thinking happy thoughts about the marathon.

Boxing camp sounds like a lot of fun!

You've had some fantastic runs this past year. I have a feeling your marathon will definitely *be a good one!*

Have a joyous day!

Oooooooooooh, an ultra? Let me know if you want any ideas for a good first one. Thanks for paying my blog a visit, btw. Nice to see you.

Great goals! I really need to 'clean house' and set some myself!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

You're smart to think up your goals in advance of completing your marathon. What a great way to stay motivated! My goal for this weekend - to come up with my goals for next year. ;-)
