- I'm not a big shopper. Shopping as a pasttime strikes me as incredibly boring. But today a friend asked me to handle an errand for her, so I was at the mall for the Phase 1 grand opening. It was fun seeing the cannons with confetti, the cutting of the ribbon, and the marching band. And I found a new favorite store that is NOT a book store (surprise!) It's called Lush and they have amazing fresh handmade soaps and cosmetics. I got a couple of bath bombs (like fizzy bubble bath, I think) and an Amazonian massage bar, for some grown-up married fun!
- I tried Irish oatmeal in the pressure cooker this morning. 3 minutes at high pressure with natural pressure release -- NICE! Tonight it's Jambalaya (at Austin's request). I've found a recipe using the pressure cooker and bought the shrimp, Andouille sausage and chicken. And yes, I'll be eating something else. :)
- My last two runs have been really good ones and fast (well, fast for me). Today I ran 7 miles on legs that were already tired from kettlebells and from a fast 12 mile run yesterday. The point was to run when tired. Tomorrow's a rest day. Then 20 miles on Saturday -- my last pre-marathon long run!
Fitness for all ages and stages from a girl who's made all the mistakes and talks about them here. Lots of oversharing, which hopefully leads to lots of encouragement and heart connection.

good luck on the 20!!! i am doing my last 20 this weekend too :) we are getting close!!
Wow - a LUSH store in the USA. I used to visit their shops in Canada. Such wonderful smells.
My favorite - Karma soap.
Oooooo your last 20?! GOOD LUCK!! ;D ;D
There's a LUSH at the Galleria?? OMG. I must go. I love the marathoner bath bubble thing. So good.
The first LUSH store I saw was in Carmel and just the look of the soaps made me want to go inside. The stuff is very nice, but I'm to cheap to spend that kind of money on soaps ;)
I have got to go to the mall and to the new Whole Foods store! Yikes, maybe tomorrow I'll check it out.
I love Lush soaps!!! I'm lucky to have a couple of Lush stores around me... I'm doing 20 this weekend, too. 23 more days to go til CIM!!
You just keep coming with the great pressure cooker ideas-- 3 minutes for my morning oats instead of 20? Also, jambalaya inspires such tasty memories that I'm going to have to grab some vegetarian andouille and see what I can cook up. Enjoy your weekend and your final 20 miler!
Your last 20 before the big race?!?! Wow, I can't believe it's almost here. I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines!!!
You'll be fine. You're an exceptional person.
:-) :-).
Matt
I love Lush. Enjoy your 20 miler tomorrow. I'll bet you're going to be very surprised at how easy it is for you.
When I saw you tonight I wanted to ask about your run, but thought it may not have been the time. You'll have to let me know how those soaps are ;)
oh, "mark" says Hi LOL ;)
We have a Lush and the soaps are wonderful, aren't they?
I've never heard of Lush. The massage bars look quite interesting... thanks for the tip!
Aron -- I just got back from my 20. I'll write about it later, but you should know that you and Julianne were with me for the last 5 miles. :) Hope your 20 went great, my speedy friend!
Kara -- I got some Karma soap, and you're right -- it smells wonderful! Thanks for the tip!
Marcy -- Thanks, chica-rella!
Holly, Yes you must go, and we must meet there, as I live 5 minutes away from Galleria!
Colette -- Well, everyone has their priorities, right? I'd never heard of LUSH until this week! It was fun seeing you and Rob there last night!
Julianne -- Hope your SoCal 20 went great. You were with me on the last 5 miles of my 20 today! Thanks for the help!
Katie -- I'm so excited that you're be there, and I can't wait to meet Laurie!
Tfh -- When I made the oats, I made a lot of them, as we freeze them and then defrost as needed, although freshly cooked IS tastiest!
I'm told the jambalaya was wonderful, which makes me happy. Maybe next time I"ll do a veg version. Let me know if you have any good PC recipes to share, ok?
Matt -- Thank you so much!!!
Jo Lynn -- Thanks for the vote of confidence. It *was* easier than I'd anticipated, and that was with a headache that would not go away, and a locked up upper back (yeah, I'll be at the chiro on Monday!). So although it didn't FEEL great, it actually WAS great, and I feel somewhat confident that I can actually do the 26 miles in 3 weeks! (Yikes, did I actually say that?!?!)
Colette! Hi Mark (lol)!
Anne -- You are so right!
Jacey -- You're right. The massage bars are a lot of fun. ;)
