I have a nickname :(

I have always wanted a nickname. Alas, the closest thing I have is "Les" which a few people call me. Do I like it? Not really, but it's not a big enough thing to made an issue. Although you can't give yourself a nickname, I really want to be known as "elle" (first letter of my name). Alas, that doesn't seem likely.

So today I was at the grocery store. I'd actually gone to mail some packages, and after taking care of that, I picked up just a few things we were running low on. But I didn't have my reusable bags with me. So as I was paying, the bagger started opening a bag, and I said, "No, I don't want bags. That's my way of remembering to bring them in." He said, "Oh, you're the punisher!" What? Huh? Yep, I'm known at my grocery store as THE PUNISHER. The checker confirmed that he's told lots of people about how I don't accept bags any more and they call me the punisher.

Hmmmmph. I like Elle better! :)

Hmmm... You know, you could start something and tell some of your friends to shop there and to tell the baggers/checkers "no bags."

As for nick-names, When I was very young, about 6, some of the neighborhood kids called me "Little Irene." I so very much disliked that, but there was already a "Big Irene" and she was one of my friend's grandmother... Fast Forward to 2002 and I'm working for an office where everyone has nick-names, and now I'm forever known as Eyeballrene. LOL. Whatever.

Have a wonderful day, Elle!

Hello Elle!

How was Vegas? Did you enjoy "Love"?

That cracked me up! The punisher! :)I got the nickname Jawsome from a friend, and luckily I like it. Could be worse I suppose, they could call you "bag lady".....

I agree with Jawsome, Punisher is better than Bag Lady.

I like Elle.

I like it too! My nickname is "dirty" from the Michael Jackson song "dirty diana", plus the fact that I talk like a trucker makes the name just perfect for me!
Thanks for the well wishes on my surgery-I'll blog soon about it, all is well----as can be!

At least you're memorable! I hear you about nicknames, though. The first syllable of my name is Di, and although it's sweet when people want to shorten my name, I wish it wasn't to a word I associate with death.

I have to say that I too like the "punisher" name...very take-control and a don't mess with me kind of feel ;)

I have so many nicknames, but my close friends call me Coley...I don't mind that one.

Have a wonderful day girlfriend!

You could just do the Margaret Thatcher thing and call yourself the Iron Lady, or as she once said, "the Lady is not for turning". Well in your case, not on the issue of grocery bags anyway :-p :-p.

Take care and bets wishes.

:-) :-).

I love it! Nobody needs to know where it came from, but I think for a trainer and 50 mile runner it is fitting in so many ways.
