Random recommendations

In no particular order, here are some things I'm loving these days:
  • My new placemats: These placemats are the bomb, because although they're plastic (very wipeable/rinseable) they don't look or feel like plastic. They come in tons of colors, are reasonably priced, and WORK!
  • 5 Gum: All I can say is this: somebody finally figured out how to make gum where the flavor lasts.
  • Jillian Michael's Book "Making the Cut": Interesting diet ideas. Innovative workout moves. Well done, oh evil trainer!
  • Spa du Jour: I like to talk the talk of "you should take care of yourself" but rarely will I make the time for r&r. But I've been to Spa du Jour a few times and have been consistently impressed. Yesterday I was there for some waxing (I AM going to Maui, you know!) and a pedicure. Karen, who did the waxing, was professional, kind, and knows skin! Andrea, who does nails, is energetic and fun AND uses beautiful bowls for the pedicure, which keeps everything clean clean clean, as opposed to spa chairs, where bacteria can hide in the pipes (gross, huh?). Anyway, the environment there is lovely and welcoming at the same time and I highly recommend them.
  • Foam rolling: If you don't have a foam roller, you've got to get one. And if you do have one, you've got to use it. I'm getting more consistent with SMR (self myofascial release) and it's helping with my body issues (mid back, hamstring, calves). Here's a link with the how-tos of foam rolling.

Thanks for the tips, especially the gum. I am getting tired of those that run out of flavor.

Thanks for your potentially spammy link.

NOT :-(.

Anyway, I had to agree with someones comment on that Gum site, the boxes do look like contraceptive packets :-p.

The Gum might be worth chewing longer, but content is important too. The site appeared not to mention it, but if the Gum contains Xylitol, (a Sugar that fights Plaque Acid), then it's good. If it contains inferior or minute amounts of Plaque fighting Sugar, then long lasting taste is no compensation.

Funny enough I don't use it, and one time someone asked me if I wanted some Gum, I just replied, "no thanks I don't chew".

I think it was just instinct to say no to something I don't do.

Take care and best wishes.

:-) :-).

Great tips today - I am checking out the gum, I have requested the book from the library (miss here on Biggest Loser!), and I will pull out my foam roller today!

You have been busy! I love bootcamps!! I'll have to check that out. So happy for you that you have someone to bounce ideas off with and who has so much in common with you.

I like the packaging of that gum...but is it as strong and lasts as long as Extra Polar Ice?? That is my favorite gum.

Love the place matts! I've been thinking about getting some finally, so maybe this is a sign ;)

Have a super week!!!

I asked Justin if he's ever tried 5 gum (he's always trying the new thing) and he has, but way different response than you had...he said it didn't last long at all...not like Stride gum...maybe the type of flavor makes a difference???
