Fluffy!

Whaddaya get when you combine marathon tapering with a voracious appetite (geared up for 40 - 50 miles of running per week) and a full-blown case of PMS? Yep, that's right -- it's me, FLUFFY! Don't let that smile fool you, folks. This girl is TROUBLE!

I ran 3 miles today. It felt wonderful. The worst part of tapering has been that I just don't feel like myself when I'm not moving.

The great news is that I get to meet all sorts of cool people at the CIM Expo on Saturday. I have for sure plans to meet up with Julianne, Aron, Michael, and Katie and Laurie, and of course I'll be stopping by to see Catra who's working one of the booths. And if I've missed anyone, and you're going to be at the Expo on Saturday, let me know, k?

Finally, as it's been in the high 30's/low 40's in the mornings, I went to Target today and bought a sweatshirt and sweatpants ($6.49 each) to wear in the hour before the race starts. I figure I can ditch the clothes and someone else can benefit from them, and maybe the sweats plus (just a few) jumping jacks will help to keep me warm. Anyone else have ideas of how to stay warm before a race? I'm all ears!

Ok, time to beat ... I mean FEED my dogs and get on with life!

Fluffy? Hardly, but I know what you mean! You look really happy, though!

When we ran in the AZRNR half marathon (starting temps at around 27 degrees) a bunch of people had disposable sweats that were sold at the expo, but the sweats for under $7 each is probably the same price! I wore leggings and just layered the top. I had a light wind breaker jacket, a long sleeved wicking t shirt and a short sleeved wicking t shirt, and I was fine. I tied the jacket around my waist once I warmed up. You might want to get a cheapo pair of mittens for your hands, though. This probably sounds gross, but my hands were so cold that Michael ended up picking up other people's discarded mittens for our hands! We didn't think AZ would be that cold!

Good luck in the Marathon!

Tar-jay is the BEST place for disposable clothes. You'll look stylish...no doubt!

Wear a 33-gallon plastic garbage bag with a hole punched in the top for your head. It will shield you from the wind and rain (if that's the case), help you generate heat by holding it in, and make a great cover should you be forced to void at the very last minute in a remote part of a wooded area instead of the long portapotty lines. Best of all, you can ditch it in the closest trash can on your way out.

Girl, you are never fluffy! I know what you mean though about feeling that way...but you never look that way ;)

I sure like Anne's idea about the trash bag...not a fashion statement for sure, but sounds like a good idea for the start. I am so excited to hear all about it!!

I can't make it to the expo, I am so sad. The other three girls on my relay team are picking up our packet and I am driving up once I'm done coordinating a wedding. Booooo. Hopefully I'll see you at the start or finish! I'm going to post my race outfit tomorrow so you'll know what to look for!

Cute picture! I will be meeting up with aron Saturday, so maybe I'll be able to find you too.

I'm wearing sweats that morning too, and little stretchy gloves. I'll probably check everything and pick it up after the race.

GOOD LUCK LESLIE!!! Can't wait to read your race report. Have fun! :)

I'll see you tomorrow at the Expo. I'm tagging along with Laurie and Jay. Can't wait.

As for the day of, if I see you on your race, and it's the right time to shed, I'll hold your clothes for you!!! The possibilities of me seeing you at the exact moment you need to shed are slim, but hey, it could happen.
